For the Lakers’ Fans…

Dear Lakers fans, (specifically in Pacific Region),

I’ve never liked the Lakers. Okay maybe one year when they had guys like Elden Campbell and Eddie Jones but that’s probably older than most of you young kids will remember. But besides that one year, I never liked the Lakers.

There are several reasons why I dislike the Lakers: they took Shaq from Orlando (my brother’s favourite team at the time), they booted Shaq out of LA, they made a laughing stock out of the Glove, I really dislike Kobe, they made a joke out of Ron Artest, Dennis Rodman, signed Karl Malone (my most hated player)…the list goes on and on.

Ergo, I hate the Lakers…So I can’t believe I’m doing this, but for every Lakers’ fan (and Celtics fan), relax a little.

The series is supposed to be where it is. Boston 3, Los Angeles 2.

And I don’t mean, the Lakers suck and they’re supposed to be down, but I mean, all Boston did is hold serve.

The series format is 2-3-2: 2 games in LA, 3 games in Boston, 2 games in LA.  So everybody should EXPECT Boston to be up 3-2. That’s how the series is SUPPOSED to look. Boston SHOULD be up 3-2 as long as they won all of their home games.

They took one in LA, and then gave it back.

So Lakers fan, stop panicking. Kobe is still going to play. Nate Robinson and Bib Baby Davis (yes that’s not a typo) won’t have those crazy games again. Lamar Odom and Andrew Bynum will probably wake up. The series is shifting BACK to LA.

Relax.

The series isn’t over.

You can start panicking if you’re down 25 with 3 minutes to go in the fourth. But for now, please spare all the hate and glaring looks.

Yes I want the Celtics to win but do you want to know why I’m not ribbing you yet? Because the SERIES ISN’T OVER.

It’s good basketball so I actually want the Lakers to win game 6 so we can have more basketball.

So stop panicking, stop worrying, and for goodness sakes…

…put Adam Morrison in.
